The Waste Tank Odour Trap & Breather Kit is a robust two-way vent / air admittance valve to eliminate bad odours with a sturdy filter designed specifically for outdoor drainage applications. The full kit also includes a 4" ID tank adaptor collar into which the odour trap fits for a tight seal.
Specifically useful for outdoor drainage applications, its robust and compact design means that it can be installed in hard-to-reach places.
When is it used? To give a concrete example, when you flush the toilet, 4-6 litres of flushed toilet waste will enter a sewage treatment plant, septic tank or waste tank. The inbound liquid displaces 4-6 litres of air, which need to exit the waste receiver in some manner typically via a vent / breather valve. As this displaced air is from a waste tank, there is the possibility it may contain smell.
As our odour trap uses a carbon filter, the displaced air is "dried" as it is forced out through the filter and much of the smell is removed.
