Sold as a complete set of 7 x vanes for the Battioni MEC2000-P rotary vane vacuum pump. Replace all 7 at once.
180 L x 41 W x 6.5 D (mm)
In a rotary vane vacuum pump, the vanes play a key role in making the vacuum work. They sit inside slots in a spinning rotor that's slightly off-centre within the pump housing. As the rotor turns, the vanes slide outward owing to centrifugal force. This movement traps air and squeezes it into a smaller space, creating suction and pushing the air out of the pump.
How it works:
Trapping and compressing gas:
As the rotor spins, the vanes form small chambers inside the pump. These chambers change size - expanding to trap air, then shrinking to compress it.
Creating suction:
As the chambers get smaller, they create suction, which pulls in more air through the pump's inlet.
Discharging the gas:
Once the vanes reach the outlet side, the compressed air is pushed out of the pump.
Maintaining a seal:
The vanes stay pressed against the pump’s inner wall to stop air from leaking backward, keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently.
