Lid can be selected as either vented or non-vented. The lid is over-sized / wider than the collar thread to prevent / miminise rainwater ingress into tank.
Tank-mounted collar fastens to water or waste tank using 4-8 self-tapping screws (not part of kit). Collar ID 210mm / 8" - OD 262mm / 10.3".

The vented lid allows for air to enter the tank and for pressure to equalise. This is particularly useful when emptying or filling the tank as the free movement of air prevents the tank's drain valve from glugging (draining) or the tank bulging (filling).
