PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Separett Villa is a waterless toilet. This product takes its name from the Swedish verb to "separate." It separates urine from solids: solids are collected in a solids container inside the toilet housing (for later disposal in a suitable composting bin) and urine is diverted away elsewhere (to a soakaway pit or to a collection container for subsequent emptying).
The toilet has a small, powerful ventilation fan that runs from a 230V AC mains lead. The fan consumes a miserly 2 watts and runs continuously to provide simple, odour-free operation.
The toilet itself is made from a highly durable high gloss plastic, which is easy to clean using non-abrasive cleaners, maximising hygiene. It looks like something you'd see at home but it’s the perfect choice for places where there is limited or no mains water and no mains drainage or sewerage, such as remote or off-grid houses, cabins, caravans, shepherd’s huts, garden rooms, garden offices, glamping sites etc. It is equally at home in a domestic or rustic setting.
The toilet’s ingenious design separates ‘solids’ from ‘liquids’ using a urine-diverting bowl and a large "solids" container positioned beneath the seating area. The solids container rotates automatically and has sufficient capacity for up to 60 "solids" uses.
All users sit down to use the unit. When you approach the toilet you won't notice anything out of the ordinary. The act of sitting down will open a privacy flap covering the solids container. Men and women will be able to aim their pee to the front of the unit where a specially designed section catches the urine. Pipework then leads the urine away out of the rear of the toilet, for collection/handling (as above).
Ventilation:
The fan pulls air through the toilet and out through a 75mm vent pipe at the top of the toilet. From here it can either be turned through 90 degrees and go directly outside through the wall (recommended), or straight up and through the roof/ceiling. The outside part of the duct is finished with an insect screen and a cap (included with the installation kit).
Liquid Outlet:
The 32mm urine outlet is on the rear of the unit and can be led to a domestic greywater drain, a soak-away or a holding tank. Please ensure you comply with any local regulations regarding the disposal etc of urine.
